clocking on clocking off

This Bundy Clock was used by staff at BlueScope to record their arrival and departure times for work.

The staff member would punch a card allocated to them into the machine and the time of arrival or departure would be recorded and then checked by the timekeeping department to ensure that staff were working their allocated hours and pay them accordingly.

Time clocks such as this came into use around 1890 and quickly came into favour.  This clock dates from the early to mid 20th century.
